Trotwood-Madison City Schools, located just outside of Dayton Ohio, has fallen on challenging times as of late. Ranked the 608th district in Ohio in 2018, new leadership recognized that not only did they need academic reforms to raise student success, but they needed a unifying message for students, teachers, and parents to restore pride in the struggling school system. Our aim was to develop a new set of visual and verbal brand standards and a campaign slogan that could be used as a rallying cry. We created a messaging platform that both educated community members on the transformations taking shape as well highlighting all of the amazing services available to students currently. The result: We Have It.
Marketing Strategy, Branding, & Design
We Have It. It’s simple, looks great on a t-shirt, and is the answer for any question about the school district’s offerings. College preparation? We have it. Tuition reimbursement? We have it. State champion athletics? We have it. On top of our main campaign strategy we also developed communication guidelines for the district when dealing with community members, staff, students, and parents. We also designed numerous marketing materials as well including facility signage, recruitment collateral, and more.
Social media and digital marketing
When tragedy hit the district and tornados displaced over 300 students, we had to act fast to ensure all students were either located at their new residence or replaced through open enrollment. The district stood to lose over 3 million in federal funding if the student population did not increase for school year 2019-2020. We were able to completely fill all open student spots and had to turn the campaign ads off early due to the number of families requesting enrollment appointments.
