Led by Karl Keith, the Montgomery County Auditor’s Office is responsible for managing property valuations, tax assessments, and financial transparency for residents throughout the Dayton region. As the local economy rebounded post-2008, the office needed support communicating complex—and often sensitive—topics to the public.

The Challenge
When property values began to rise significantly, many Montgomery County homeowners were understandably concerned about increased tax burdens. The Auditor’s Office needed to inform the public about triennial valuation updates and other tax-related changes while shifting focus to the broader message of economic recovery. With outdated branding and a need for clearer communication tools, the challenge was both visual and strategic.
The Strategy
As a Dayton marketing agency with experience in public sector messaging, we led the charge with a major rebranding initiative. We designed a new logo that honored the legacy of the office while aligning it visually with Montgomery County’s current branding. We developed the tagline “Back On Track” to highlight economic progress, and we crafted marketing campaigns that emphasized clarity, transparency, and stability. Our work focused on equipping the public with accurate, accessible information while minimizing confusion and negative sentiment.
The Results
The campaign delivered a measurable boost in public awareness and engagement during a sensitive and highly visible valuation cycle. Through a refined, multi-channel strategy—including YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram campaigns targeting Montgomery County homeowners—we generated over 2 million impressions and more than 30,000 clicks to the Auditor’s website, reducing the in-bound call volume by 40% and increasing efficiency.

Our engagement included full brand development, Dayton logo design, campaign messaging, paid media strategy, animation, graphic design, and social media marketing. Over several years, we’ve produced a series of animated videos tailored to the needs of the Auditor’s Office. As animation technology improved and became more cost-effective, we elevated the look and feel of each campaign. Working directly with Karl Keith’s team, we developed messaging and scripts that were adapted into multiple video formats—used across social media, YouTube, and other paid media placements.
